23 Feb Custom Shade Structures on the Sarasota Bayfront
The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall has been at the forefront of Sarasota’s history for generations. The beautiful Bayfront location is a top destination for local and national performers. In 2000, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall underwent one of the most breathtaking renovations ever. In 2012, they continued to expand their renovations onto the Bayfront patio.
Apollo Sunguard of Sarasota developed a state of the art outdoor shade structure known as the Sky Manta, exclusively for the Van Wezel. The Sky Manta was designed by Ernesto de Oliveria with the goal of providing optimal sun protection and shade with an artistic design. Special consideration in form and function were paramount in the engineering and design process.
As the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall celebrates its 45th year, the team at Apollo Sunguard is proud to have been a part of our community’s history. The Sky Manta increases the sun safety factor, enhances the architecture and makes it comfortable to be outside: expanding the use of this landmark waterfront facility year-round.
45 years later, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall mission stays the same.
“To present a broad spectrum of the world’s finest performing artists in order to meet the diverse cultural needs of all of Southwest Florida’s residents and visitors. To bring visiting artists into the community for meaningful education and outreach programs that help develop new audiences. To provide a quality home for other local cultural organizations that present their programs here.”
