Steel: Apollo Sunguard uses structural steel and Allied Steel made from cold-rolled, galvanized tubular steel with a triple layer of protection. Allied Steel products outperform most steels in tensile strength and long-term corrosion resistance, as well as saltwater spray and other weathering tests.

Fabric: Sunguard Shade Cloth® is known for its strength, vibrant color and durability. The high-density polyethylene fabric with ultraviolet additives is Rachel knitted so material will not unravel when cut, ensuring stability and a consistent shade pattern. All of our fabric passes the ASTM E-84 fire rating test as well as the NFPA 255 and NFPA-701, and is rated a Class 1 Material.

Thread: Tenera thread used for stitching is guaranteed not to rot due to UV exposure or other environmental causes.

Corners: Fabric connection points are triple reinforced. Each connecting point has vinyl sewn between layers for reinforcement.

Cable & Fasteners: Tensioning cable is galvanized steel; fasteners are stainless steel.

Quick & Easy Cover Removal: No special tools required. Just loosen the turnbuckles and you’re done!

General Information

Apollo Sunguard Systems, Inc. warrants all structures sold, will conform in kind and quality to the published specifications, and will be free of defects in workmanship and material. As a further indication of our quality, Apollo Sunguard Systems, Inc. provides a non-prorated framework and fabric warranty.

Framework: 20 Year Warranty

Apollo Sunguard Systems, Inc. provides a 20 year warranty on all steel framework against all structural damage due to corrosion, deterioration, or workmanship. Units are designed for 5 lbs snow load and 10 lbs live load unless otherwise engineered. Covers should be removed for snow greater than 5 lbs. Owner is responsible for routine maintenance to preserve the finish and welded joints. This might consist of spot painting any points of corrosion if, in the unlikely event any should occur (regardless of cause); and, to keep connecting hardware properly secured. Failure to provide routine maintenance will void this warranty. Warranty constitutes repair or replacement of any defective parts. This warranty does not include any cosmetic issues, vandalism, incidental damage or Acts of God.

Fabric: 15 Year Warranty

Apollo Sunguard Systems, Inc. provides a 15 year warranty on all Sunguard Shade Cloth® polyethylene covers against deterioration, rot or faulty workmanship and seam failure. Owner is responsible for routine maintenance of cover, which includes maintaining proper cable tension and cleaning cover annually with a light detergent and water to maintain color vibrancy. This warranty does not include any cosmetic issues, vandalism, incidental damage, or Acts of God.

Cover Removal

In the event of severe storm warnings, the cover should be removed with predicted winds of 90 mph or greater. The steel framework is designed to withstand winds of 170 mph winds with the cover removed (120 mph with cover on).

Installation

Failure to install Apollo Sunguard shade structures as per factory specifications voids all warranties.
